If you are thinking about going to law school, you should also consider online law school.  The first thing that you want to keep in mind is that you are not going to get a free ride because you have chosen to take your law school classes online.  You still have a huge responsibility to fulfill to complete each course.  When you are looking into the possibility of attending a prospective law school, you must consider if the law school is going to fit your learning style.  Even with an online law school, you are going to want to make sure that the institution is going to provide you with the skills that you are going to need.  The law school that you are to enroll in should be able to prepare you with the knowledge that you are going to need to prepare you for your legal career.

1.  If you are thinking about attending an online law school, there is something very important that you must be aware of.  You should know that if you do attend online law school, you will not be able to take the Bar unless you live in the state of California.  So if you are looking to be an attorney, you must physically attend law school, unless you live or are willing to work out of the state of California.  That’s right, the American Bar Association only accepts applicants (outside the state of California) that physically went to a law school.  However, if you are going to practice law inside the state of California, you will not automatically be able to practice law as an attorney.  You must meet certain requirements in order to officially practice as an attorney.

2.  Keep in mind that if you go the route of an online law school, rather than physically attending a law school, there are examinations that you are going to have to pass in order to go on to the next phase of online law school.   One of the first examinations that you will take that will carry a great deal of weight is the First Year Law Examination.  This will be one of the longest tests of your life.  This exam is usually the span of several hours, on the average four.  Even if you attend online law school, there will be no substitute for hard work.  You will find yourself constantly studying, posting assignments, reading, and writing.  Attending law school, even if it is online law school will not be an easy feat.  The key to mastering online law school, or any law school for that matter, is to stay on top of your work, from day one, down to the graduation finish line.
